Part of Little Nightmares' appeal was the aesthetically-unique landscapes with the mysterious Maw's damp pipes and blue-hued vastness. They mix up the gameplay to fill the calm time with a mounting sense of dread. This is made up for with the smaller enemies, such as mannequins, hands and porcelain students. One complaint is that the player isn't given much time with the surgeon compared to the other bosses, but he still provides plenty of scares. From a rubber-necked teacher to a tall man wearing a dapper hat, each enemy is brought to life with phenomenal character design and unsettling abilities. Little Nightmares II builds upon the first game's chilling foundations and delivers even more frightening enemies.
